Loneliness in single people

Name(s):
Lonely hearts
Lack of life partner
Nature
Millions of single and divorced people have no acceptable way of finding marriage partners or even friends. Meeting someone at a bar or night club implies willingness to engage in casual sex. Dating agencies seem unnatural and are often expensive. Advertisements in news papers have the danger of meeting someone quite unacceptable. In modern society after leaving school there are no neutral places for people interested in meeting members of the opposite sex.
Incidence
In 1990, five million Britons lived alone. Single people are estimated to comprise thirty percent of households by the year 2000. The next two decades are expected to see a rise in the number of bachelors by 10%, and in the number of single women by 12.3%.
