The disappearance of subtlety, suggestiveness, wit and irony in conversation is endemic. Instead there seems some frustration, anger and envy are always on the verge of bursting out. The conversation seldom touches on objective phenomena unrelated to the self. It dwells all but exclusively on personal desires and images and, for all its offensiveness is really an unvoiced cry for help, which although touching does not make it any less boring.
