Ideological corruption

Nature
The debasement of religion and non-theistic ideology may take the form of deviation and schism, hypocrisy, heresy, decadence and excess, a dilettante dabbling in the occult and certain kinds of immoral experimentation. Ideological corruption actually serves to sharpen the need for ideology, and encourages apathy, alienation, cynicism, brutality and fear.
Counter-claim
The accusation of corruption in the context of ideology is very often judgement based on outmoded traditional attitudes.
