Incidence 
[Small island developing states] Island developing countries, because they are small and prone to natural disasters, have economies particularly susceptible to to sudden shocks, especially in their external sectors. This makes many of them incapable of being economically viable in present circumstances and therefore inherently dependent on foreign aid.
