Cockroach resistance to insecticides

Nature
Cockroaches, important disease vectors, have developed resistance to the various insecticides used in their control.
Incidence
The German roach [Blattella germanica] first showed signs of resistance in 1951 in Texas (USA). By 1958 resistant strains were evident in Europe and the Caribbean. The oriental roach [Blatta orientalis] first developed resistance in Germany in 1958.
