Rebound headaches

Other Names:
Medication-induced headaches

Nature:
Overuse of any pain medications, prescription or non-prescription, can precipitate a "rebound" into another headache. This problem may be exacerbated by caffeine (both as a product ingredient or consumed in beverages). Dependency on pain medication may create an unresponsive rebound headache on withdrawal.
