Orphan radiation

Nature:
Orphaned radiation sources are radioactive scientific or medical material that may have been lost or misplaced. The material presents a hazard because victims may not know that they have been exposed.
Incidence:
The Stanford Database on Nuclear Smuggling, Theft and Orphan Radiation Sources (DSTO) lists 107 sources of orphaned radiation.
