Felonies

Nature:

Crimes have been traditionally classified into felonies and misdemeanours (with treason categorized separately). Common law felonies are those offences punishable by total forfeiture of land, goods or both. Such felonies include murder, manslaughter, sodomy, rape, robbery, arson, burglary and larceny. Under modern statutes, felonies may include those felonies for which a defendant is punishable by death or imprisonment.
