Tay-Sachs disease

Nature:

Tay-Sachs disease is a degenerative neurological condition that is fatal in early childhood. After the baby has developed normally for four or five months, it begins to weaken, have seizures and lose muscle control. It becomes blind and then paralyzed and dies after a few years. It is a familial disease linked to a single recessive gene.
