Erosion of biodiversity through cultivation

Nature:

Species diversity increases initially in response to cultivation but then losses increase as intensity of management rises. Such losses may also affect food security through increasing vulnerability to diseases, competition from invasive species and economic opportunities through a narrower range of production choices.
