Flea resistance to insecticides

Nature

Among the most important chemical weapons against plague are insecticides to kill the flea vectors, but their effectiveness has been threatened by the increasing resistance of fleas.

Incidence

Human fleas first showed resistance to pesticides in 1949, cat and dog fleas in 1952, and oriental rat fleas in 1959.
