Smut diseases of plants

Nature:

Fungi causing smuts are plant parasites and the disease is generally characterized by black, dusty masses of spores. The fungi are very specific in their selection of hosts and host organs: they attack only the stems, flowers, anthers or ovules of their host and no other part or other host.
