Repression of intellectual dissidents
Nature: Repression of opinions felt to be dangerous or subversive to the social, economic, ideological and political system of the state may be by censorship, internment, indoctrination, restriction on movement between countries, torture, exile and defamation of character. Repression results in apathy and conformism, forms a barrier to progress and strengthens totalitarianism.
