Student newspapers may suffer from fragmentation, inter-student faction fighting, lack of finance, or control by authorities who censor them or use them as propaganda tools. Alternatively, student newspapers may have undue political influence in relation to the relative isolation of students from the rest of society. Student opinion may be idealist or cynical, elitist or extremist and it may incite political unrest or violence and hence cause repression or revolution. Statements may be inaccurate or exaggerated to the point of propaganda.
