Infamy

Nature:

Infamy is of two types: legal under canon law and the common loss of reputation which is the consequence of notorious conduct. The latter is a state of mind and the former is a punishment for those guilty of offenses against faith, such as, apostasy, heresy, schism, and desecration of Sacred Species; against ecclesiastical authority, such as, attacking the pope, a cardinal or a papal legate and against morals, such as, violation of a grave or body, bigamy, sexual relations with minors, rape, sodomy, incest and pandering.
