Nature:
Drugs are used in modern forms of animal husbandry to improve weight gain and to provide a base level of artificial resistance to infections. Pain killing and tranquilizing drugs are used on sporting animals, such as horses, to keep them in competition. Tranquilisers and anaesthetics are used in the scientific research of wild animals and captive animals, and also to stun and transport animals for commercial purposes.
