Nature: Conflict between religious sects on ethnic or doctrinal grounds results in discrimination, segregation, intolerance, prejudice and inequality. The existence of minority sects may be threatened by larger sects which have wider recognition and are better integrated into national life. Under such conditions, compulsory education becomes a weapon of religious conflict.
