Nonarticular rheumatism

Other Names:
Extraarticular rheumatic pain
Nature:
Non-articular rheumatism refers to the group of disorders resulting in joint pains not directly due to pathology at the articular surface, usually an inflammatory or degenerative condition. Nonarticular joint pain may otherwise arise from the soft-tissue (entheses, tendons, ligaments, bursae) around the joint. If the passive range of movement is normal, the cause is most likely extra-articular.
