Tryptamine drugs

Other Names:
DMT
Dimethyltryptamine
DET
Diethyltryptamine
Nature:

The effects of tryptamine drugs are a heightened awareness of sensory input, similar to LSD and DOM, often accompanied by limited control of what is experienced. The user of such substances finds it difficult to distinguish between fantasy and reality, between one object and another or even oneself and the surrounding environment. These substances have no recognized therapeutic applications and are subject to the strictest control under the International Convention on Psychotropic Substances] (1971).

Background:

DMT and DET are active principles in hallucinogenic snuff obtained from the mimosa Piptadenie peregrina found in the Orinoco region of Amazonia.
