Sexual abuse of wards

Sexual abuse of wards is having sexual intercourse or deviant sexual behaviour with a minor as a parent, guardian or other child supervisor or with a person in a hospital, prison or other institution as a supervisor, guard or a person with disciplinary authority.

In September 1991, the principal of Crookham Court School in the UK was jailed for 10 years for sexual offences against boys. In the same month the former administrator of two council homes for children and four social workers were tried for buggery and other forms of sexual abuse of children and a young residential care worker.
