Underutilization of historical rites and customs Dormant historical celebrations
Nature:
The isolation of the older generation within the community has resulted in the rituals and customs they would normally pass to future generations either becoming obsolete or being transmitted as rigid rites and fossilized customs which cannot be interpreted in the absence of the older people or made relevant to present family and community living styles. Indeed because of the knowledge gap imposed by their isolation, elders are left unable to recreate the past in terms of the future.
