Departure of business from small communities to urban locations
Nature:
Adequate consumer services generate increased business operation and money circulation within their own boundaries. The current challenge is relocating appropriate commercial and industrial functions in small communities in which many of the commercial functions have gradually been transferred to the nearest market town. At present, residents of communities in which the stable business section has been reduced spend large amounts on goods and services in nearby large communities; and patterns of buying goods away from home are encouraged by short driving distances involved.
