Interrogation of prisoners who have been stripped naked serves several purposes. Victims are humiliated and intimidated by the experience. Being naked before interrogators represents a loss of control over the situation and symbolizes exposure of one's weaknesses and secrets without the ability to hide. It also implies an unreciprocated intimacy with the prison officials which for most subjects is incongruent with their own sense of morality.
Naked interrogation has been reported in the following countries:
[Africa] Kenya, Mali, Somalia, South Africa, Tunisia, Zambia
[America] Canada, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay
[Asia] Israel
[Europe] Yugoslavia
