Spiritual experiences
Description:
Spiritual experience in Sufi terms cannot be explained psychologically, as psychology is concerned with the mind and the spiritual is beyond the mind. Nor can it be interpreted in language. This means that neither mystic experience related to fear or love of God, nor to awareness of the pure self, can be interpreted according to science. They are are trans-subjective, as are some other higher states (the soul's contemplation of the attributes of God, communication with the Beloved, revelation through illumination); they are not ordinary states or emotions. There is no accepted standard for psychological assessment of mystical states.
