Death-bardo rebirth-seeking awareness

Description:
This state of awareness is represented by the third major after-life bardo and is characterized by the perception of the arising nirmanakaya, and the spiritual beings and Buddha-guides to the six worlds. This bardo is said to be the most important in the journey toward re-birth and is detailed in the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Fearing the terrors which the images of himself have become the person flees into new birth.
Context:
This state is the final bardo before rebirth. It is experienced from the 20th to the 49th day preceding rebirth.<
