Transpersonal awareness

Description:
Consciousness is the primary reality, both ego and the external world being derived from it. The basis for control is through self image, and this underlies not only mind-cure movements but also Buddhist traditions; and is the psychological basis for prayer and hope theology in Christianity. Through non-attachment, suffering is accepted or even embraced; as are also threats to the ego. Control comes through inducing an event through mental imagery.
Context:
One of three possible modes by which the relationship of consciousness with ego may be regarded, each implying a particular strategy of control or of seeing the way through limitations, what may be termed a form of transcendence. Only in this third mode may the integrity of the unity of consciousness and ego be affirmed independent of considerations of manipulation of the environment.<
