Beatification

Description:
An individual may have lived a life of such goodness that, after death, that person is publically venerated. The Roman Catholic Church permits the formal title of Beatus or Beata, 'Blessed' and allows veneration by exhibition of relics or pictures and saying of the particular office either in the region from which the person came or in the order of which he or she was a member. This limited recognition is widened to include the whole Church if the person involved is [canonized].
