Description:
Development on the community or historical level can occur when individuals use their very presence to initiate change, acting as a catalyst so that their visible example is followed by others. This is seen in individual actions bearing testimony to human rights, or setting the example in a community project. The individuals concerned are aware, consciously initiating the action, although those following their example may not be so aware.
